Mission
The City Museum and Archives seeks to chronicle in a sustematic way the evolution of Gingoog City from a settlement and haven for migrants, to a town and eventually a city, and how it coped with the socio-economic and political forces brought to bear upon it by the most significant historical events of the time: the Spanish conquest, the American colonianism, the Japanese Occupation, World War 1 and World war 2, the commonwealth, the new Republic, the Martial Law. EDSA Revolution and Post-EDSA; and to highlight the outstanding contribution of its leaders to the growth and development of the city, for the information, inspiration, education, and emulation of all Gingoognons.
Vision
The City Museum and Archives: a premier community museum that showcases, through its collection of artifacts, relics, memorabilia, photographs, paintings and the like, the cultural and ethnic diversity of the people and their struggle towards a convergence and common identity that is uniquely Gingoognon, where young and old lean to appreciate their past and can draw strength and inspiration there from; where Rizal's solemn words ring truer and ever: "Ang hindi lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan".
